JULY 17TH 2008:
There is some very sad news. Laura has had to withdraw for the Beijing team because of a back injury. A slipped disc has meant Laura has trapped nerves down her legs and it would not be safe for Laura to compete so soon. As you can imagine Laura is very upset but determined to bounce back from this stronger than before. Laura would really appreciate your messages of support in her guestbook.

JUNE 29TH 2008:
This afternoon at the event finals of the British Championships the team for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games was announced. Laura made the team, along with team mate Becky Downie! Also on the team is Beth Tweddle, Marissa King, Becky Wing and Hannah Whelan. Laura was over the moon and clearly emotional with the result - a dream come true! Congratulations Laura, we are all so very proud of you!!!

Last weekend at the Great Britain vs France competition, Laura competed in two event finals on vault and balance beam. Laura placed 4th with a 13.775 average. On balance beam, Laura posted her new career-high score, 15.350 for a second place! Congratulations Laura! Three new videos have been added from the GB vs France competition.
March 15th 2008:
Laura competed today at the Great Britain vs France competition at the Blackpool. It was a close competition where France defeated GB, 229.300-227.500. Laura was solid on all four events, where she placed 3rd in the all-around with a 57.250 behind France's Pauline Morel and Laura's team mate Becky Downie. She placed 4th on beam and scored a very impressive score on balance beam, a 15.000! Good job Laura! To view the full results from the meet, click here.
